Great write-up. So, it looks like the body rhythm does not really get that badly affected by the cold dark winter mornings. Hmm .. Now I need to dump that excuse off too, and get into the habit of rising early :)

Just curious, and in follow-up to the last comment. Is the early rising still working out in winter? I have a really serious problem trying to get out of my warm and cozy quilt!

It probably will be harder in winter time. I'm glad I started with this habit in summer, when the sun is there to help. I trust that this has grown into such an everyday habit, that summer or winter doesn't really matter anymore.

And the main reason why I decided to change, getting in tune with the sleeping rhythms of my wife and son, provides enough fulfillment on its own. The sunrise is a very nice bonus, as are all the other benefits.

Just a thought: I love the sunrise as well. I really like living by the ocean and on the east coast, allowing me to see the sun rising from the water in the morning. But what about winter? When it is dark when you have to wake up? When it is dark as you go to work? When it is dark arriving to work? The extra help the sun provides us with will be missing in a few months. Perhaps I sound pessimistic but I just imagine that it will be much harder...
