@Lisa Marie Mary - Thanks again! I'm quite familiar with Nutramigen and the follow-up formula Flexical. Jesse, our first, had to have those formulas during the first 2 years or so. Esmee also needs special formula, but luckily she seems to react better to food than Jesse, and we're not using Nutramigen right now. Still breastfeeding and the occasional bottle of formula. It is hard to see those small babies having so much trouble with something as basic as food.

Did you kids grow over the allergies? So far it looks like our son is, thankfully. He'll probably always needs to maintain a varied diet, but that would be beneficial for most people, right?

Oh yeah, even with my 'quickest' delivery (7hrs) - there was downtime when you're just kind of waiting around.

CONGRATULATIONS to you and your wife! Esmee is just beautiful! (And so is her name!)

My kids all needed soy milk the first year. One time I was hospitalized, and someone had given my daughter regular milk - and when they brought her to me to visit - I did not recognize her! She was puffy and red all over - it was awful. And I had another friend who's baby had to have Nutramigen, the most expensive formula at the time. It is definitely heartbreaking when they are suffering and it's hard to fix it.

I hope things smooth out for all of you!

@Pratik Saptarshi - Thanks! Actually she hasn't given me a hard time about it...after all a small message is sent in just a couple of seconds and there are always are some spare moments to find. Even when you're about to give birth to a baby :-)
