Hi Beth,

I play the acoustic guitar ... headphones are not going to do much for the noise! The "problem" also is that I'm an absolute beginner at playing the guitar, and that also kind of stands in the way of making music. It's more learning to play the guitar than making music.

I have played the piano in the past (way back in time), and I have been thinking about buying a simple keyboard so I could get into playing with headphones :-) Our thoughts must have crossed in the ether! Thanks for the tip, I needed that gentle push to take the decision to go forward with that plan.

Hi Lodewijk,
Your goals are coming along well! I too am more successful at working towards my goals, once I am able to accept my own feelings and circumstances as valuable considerations. When concerned about being derailed from my goals, I view the "unexpected" as a great opportunities to be creative at finding a different method of achieving that goal or redefine it. Which brings me to your music. What do you play? One of my sons uses electronic equipment with headphones, which seemed to have resolved the noise issue for us. I love when he plays the piano late at night, however it sorely interrupts my husband's sleeping.
