Review week 07-2008; Goals, blog and GTD

On Sundays I’m looking back on the past week. How did I perform towards my goals? How did my blog do? And how am I keeping up with my Getting Things Done system and Zen to Done habits?

Blog performance

Blog statistics are a puzzling me. Sometime articles do very well when I did not expect it, and sometimes they don’t perform when an article has all the signs of a popular articles. Maybe the key is to have no expectations, but then again, I’m only human as well. I had better expectations for the article on time leadership. It got great comments (thanks guys!) and quite some reviews on StumbleUpon and some diggs as well. But hardly any visitors nevertheless. Oh well, I’ll just keep on working and write about things that excite me.

Here are the stats:

Statistics week 07-2008
Average RSS subscribers: 895 +38
Average daily visitors: 258 -106
Technorati Authority: 266 -3

Progress towards goals

It’s striking how many things outside of one’s control influence performance towards goals. Last week I was ill, now my son is ill and needs quite some care. I had a full day of renovation work on the schedule for today, but that’s not going to happen. I already did some work on the project already, so there’s some progress. But not near the level I intended.

Material State
2nd floor renovated by 02-2007 Some progress. Got quote from subcontractor, looks good.
Active State
2500 subscribers by 12-2007 Overdue! 36% done.
Social State
Be in contact with friends and family 4 days a week Yes. 8 out of 10 weeks.
Emotional State
No goal at this time
Physical State
Run half a marathon in 10-2008 Again, no progress.

Zen to Done / Getting Things Done – weekly review

Nothing major to report in this area. And nothing minor too, for that matter. So that’s it for now. Back to caring for my son…he’s crying again.
